This is a proper professional bike shop, you can hire any type of bike from a city bike to a racing bike. They have a massive shop where you can buy any spare part for your bike, with a large workshop. You should definitely hire from here, they all speak English, the bikes are well maintained, don't bother with the slightly cheaper shops down the road. I am English, I hired a city bike, it was great, I am also a club racing cyclist so I know a good shop when I see one !!!!
Great service and advice from Florence by Bike !
I rented an e-bike for 14 days in May and I was able to do an amazing journey :
- we biked from Florence to Arezzo, going through the "Strade dei Sette Ponti". Great scenery !
- we spent some time at lake Trasimeno, very convenient for cycling
- we then went to Perugia and enjoyed the beautiful hilly forest and ruins, we also visited Assisi
- We then did a part of Via Fiaminia and slept close to the city of Massa Martana in the mountains. Great scenery and food
- We then biked to Terni and Narni, and spent the evening in beautiful hilltop city of Magliano Sabina
- then we went to lake Braciano, I really recommend to stay at one of the lake's camping and enjoyed the beaches
- We then went to Rome, where we visited and traveled via the Via Appia Antica, a roman road you can bike until Castel Gondolfo, a beautiful lake where the pope has his summer palace
- we biked to Tivoli, south east of Rome, and enjoyed the beautiful antic Villas there
- We then finished the loop taking the train to Montefiascone and the Bolsena lake, and biked to the beautiful city of Orvieto. The lake is absolutely stunning and nature is preserved.
We did between 40 and 90 kilometers a day. Even though it was an e-bike it was quite sportive because we turned the battery off when it was flat or when the hills were not too steep. The battery was more than enough that way.
I personaly also did this trip to avoid carbon emissions on visit places not crowded with tourists. I was able to take the train from where I live (Paris) to Firenze, and even enjoyed a stop on the coast of Genova.
Thank you Florence by Bike to have made this trip possible !
I normally never leave a review but love my bike ride. Rented a gravel bike for a day at a fair price. This is a good bike shop. You feel it right away when you enter the store.
They also have trails/ride informations on their website on Strava so you can be offline on your cellphone and for tourist like me who didn’t knew the nice rides.
Did the 78km in Tuscany and it was awesome!
My wife and I were in Florence and I decided on a whim to rent a bike improv. This was poor planning because Firenze is a cycling MECCA. Nevertheless, this shop was phenomenal. From customer service to accommodations with locals showing me the best climb (Vallombroosa). Coming from USA climbs like these are dime in a dozen. this shop is a must for an avid cyclist or those looking for a simple rig to get around the city.
