Rented a gravel bike for 2 weeks. Explored 100s kilometers around Cefalu. Great bike, and great service from Antony. He also gave me one day refund for returning it a day early, even though I didn't ask for.

The city is pretty bikeable. Some streets get too busy, some streets are just for cars, but overall if you can stand to wait your turn crossing some busy street it can be very rewarding. There are dedicated bicycle paths in some places. Take care of this bike and it will take care that you are able to see a lot more of the city of Palermo than you otherwise could see on a day.
I was given tips concerning which roads are not available for biking, about how many cruise ships arrive that day, so roads to avoid a great mass of people, locations to go sightseeing.
