FOR WHO?
For those who are looking for a flawless e-bike capable of providing enjoyment on absolutely all types of terrain, both uphill and downhill.
This Instinct Powerplay is an excellent e-bike, equipped with astonishing capabilities uphill, particularly thanks to its autonomy which allows for long mountain loops. Going downhill, its healthy and playful behavior enables it to navigate everywhere. Sure, the Altitude is even more efficient downhill while not really being much less so uphill, so one might be tempted to choose it. However, aside from the most demanding sections, especially at high speeds, the Instinct competes in all areas, proving to be more accessible and even more playful. Your playground will dictate your choice!
ON THE TRAIL
The Instinct Powerplay shares its chassis with the Altitude. The frame and swingarm are the same, only the shock mount changes to allow for a shorter one, thereby reducing the travel. The Instinct offers 140 mm of rear travel compared to 150 mm at the front. It is a 29'' using Horst Link suspension kinematics, available in either aluminum or carbon frame, like the one tested here. The 70 model sits just below the top-of-the-line model, featuring Fox Performance suspensions, a 36 in the front, and a Float X in the rear. The Shimano XT group provides the brakes and transmission.
