The Mrs. and I were wandering up from the boat, when we spotted this place and had a "Let's check this island out on a scooter" moment. I didn't have my driving licence with me, but had a picture of it on my phone, which was all that they needed (okay, and payment as well!)
20 mins and €55 later, we're off on a 125cc Honda, with helmets and gloves included in the rental.
A few hours later, we'd had a wonderful afternoon exploring all the places they'd recommended.
Excellent!
Will start by saying the staff in the shop were very helpful and friendly. The two stars is because having suffered a tyre completely coming off the wheel of one of 3 hired electric bikes, the patron who brought a replacement only brought a standard bike, since he hadn't checked what bikes we'd hired, then left us without asking if it was okay, but drove off in a huff. We had to cycle back to the shop, fortunately only a couple of Km, where the staff helpfully arranged an electric replacement. Maybe the patron had a bad day but his attitude was disgusting, lucky for him he has much more pleasant and friendly people in his shop.
I rarely write reviews, and when I do so, it's because the place was superb and deserves highlighting. So this is a first for me: the service here was abysmal, rude and unprofessional, from start to finish. It started when the lady at the desk (who refused to give her name) couldn't find our reservation, and simply stated that we didn't reserve. Only when I insisted, she had another look (there were only 5-6 reservations on the wall behind her) and guess what? She found it. I waited for an apology, but should have known better. They young lad (Edouard, I think) was more helpful, but seemed bullied and impacted by her behaviour. He suggested that we can change our order to replace one regular bike with one e-bike (when we learned that there around 140 hills on the island, and we have 3 young kids), but she overruled him, with glee and lack of sympathy. I asked for the kids to try out the bikes and she looked at me as if I asked for a gold-plated limo, and the same happened when I asked for baskets for the bikes. Of course, no one took the time to make sure that we know how to operate an e-bike (we do, but still) let alone that we know where we're going (I asked a question in that regard, and it was brushed off). We left to start our bike ride only to discover that the wheels on two bikes were severely underpumped. We turned around and went back. If you thought that we received an apology, you weren't paying attention. More rolled eyes and 'couldn't be bothered' attitude. Worst. Service. Ever.
