The local waves, from the very first session.
The Softech Middie is the board you put in the hands of someone who really wants to surf, not just try. Its generous 45.5L volume and wide nose provide the float and paddle power needed to catch La Torche waves even in the soft summer conditions of the Pays Bigouden. The drawn-in tail and ample rocker allow you to start carving turns as soon as you progress.
The reinforced 6oz epoxy construction with single stringer makes it solid and responsive, it rides like a real board, with the safety of a foam deck. The FCS II fin system fits and removes without tools. Perfect for beginners, it stays fun well beyond those first paddle-outs.

How to choose your board?
The right choice depends first and foremost on your level and the conditions of the day. The waves at La Torche and across the Pays Bigouden are often soft and consistent in summer, ideal for learning or progressing.
Beginner: 60L and above
Beginner–Intermediate: 45–60L
Intermediate: 35–45L
Intermediate–Advanced: 25–35L
If you're just starting out or getting back in the water after a long break, go for volume: a longer, wider board forgives positioning mistakes and makes paddling easier. If you surf regularly and want more manoeuvrability, a shorter, lower-volume board will respond better to your intentions.
When in doubt, always go a size up, extra volume never holds a good surfer back, but its absence can ruin an entire session.
Our team in store is here to guide you based on your build, your level and the conditions of the day.
Board swaps are possible depending on availability on site.
