We booked a Radwagon cargobike and a Shiftbike.
The backseat was fitted to our two kids size on the spot. And I was able to peddle them onto the steeper hills of Montmartre and Butte Chaumont park and the like without too much effort.
We biked through the city all day from 10 untill 18. The battery of the cargo was almost empty but so was I. So I don't think you need to be afraid to actually get an empty battery.

Excellent bikes. New, good battery range, comfortable seats and geometry. Good locks and helmets included. 40 euro for 10am to 6pm was a great deal. We had a lovely ride along the Seine and out to Bois de Vincennes park. Amazing place to ride. The shop is right next to the Seine cyclepath.
