All about Paris by Gravel

The gravel bike is perfect for Paris, thanks to its ability to ride on both asphalt and dirt roads.

Recent models like the Specialized Diverge, the Canyon Grail range or the Trek Checkpoint offer performance for all levels, with great versatility and robustness.

A few route ideas from Paris:

  1. La Coulée Verte René-Dumont: Start your walk at Bastille and follow this former railroad track, now converted into a promenade. This trail takes you through verdant tunnels, bridges and parks, offering a perfect mix of cobblestones and soft paths to test your gravel.

  2. The Ourcq Canal: A classic for Parisian cyclists. From La Villette, follow the Canal de l'Ourcq towards the countryside. This route, around 100 km round trip, takes you through urban and rural landscapes, ideal for a day out.

  3. The Rambouillet forest loop: For a more natural escape, leave Versailles and head for the Rambouillet forest. With its shaded paths and gravel tracks, this route offers a great nature getaway that's still accessible from Paris. Perfect for a day out, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

  4. Vallée de Chevreuse: A must for gravel bike enthusiasts. From Paris, pedal towards the Chevreuse Valley. This route takes you through rolling roads, picturesque villages and forest paths. It's the perfect opportunity to make the most of your gravel bike's off-road capabilities.

Why not take a cycling trip from Paris?

Paris is the perfect starting point for many gravel biking adventures. Whether you're looking for urban strolls or nature escapades, your gravel bike will be your best ally for exploring the capital and its surroundings.

The whole team was very professional and friendly. It's a welcome change from other bike shops where you feel like you're bothering them. I rented a superb gravel bike and I'll definitely be back.

Amazing service. I was on the last leg of the Bristol to Paris ride with 4 broken spoken spokes. I was forced to get a train into Paris for the last leg. I found this very helpful guy in the shop who was able to replace all my spokes within the hour. I was able to then cycle back out of Paris to complete the Bristol to Paris. Very friendly service and a reasonable price. Thank you.

One of the best commercial bike rental shops we’ve experienced. We received wonderful advice to make sure the bikes perfectly suited our riding styles, along with great tips on the beautiful routes around the Vexin. Above all, the owner was genuinely kind, thoughtful, and considerate. Merci Philippe et à bientôt!
