We tell you more about this resort!

We tell you more about this resort!

Between the Southern Alps and the Italian border, Briançon combines historic charm with great skiing. Its Vauban ramparts, dry air and bright winters make it an ideal base for enjoying the valley's slopes. Renting skis in Briancon means you can arrive light and choose equipment suited to the snow at the time, which is often cold in the morning and softer in the mid-afternoon, especially from February-March onwards.

The best time to ski? After an overnight snowfall, target the early hours for smooth, uncrowded skiing. When the sun is shining brightly, opt for well-lit slopes in the late morning, then climb to higher altitudes as the snow settles. In January, expect warm temperatures: great for dry snow, but remember to layer up. In spring, the days get longer; leave early, take a break on the terrace, then come back for a final run as the golden light illuminates the peaks.
