The best times to ride vary according to the weather: after a snowfall, aim for cold, light snow in the morning; in bright sunshine, late morning and early afternoon offer softer, more playful snow. On windy days, choose sheltered slopes under fir trees. At the height of winter, the air is dry and the cold can be sharp; in spring, wait until the flaky layer softens around midday to link up gentle turns.
