Aci Castello is a wonderful place to discover by bike: the light on the black lava, the sea air and the narrow streets leading up to the castle create a unique atmosphere. A few pedal strokes will take you from the lively little squares to open panoramas of the Ionian Sea, with Etna as a backdrop when the sky is clear.

The seafront is ideal for a leisurely stroll, especially in the early morning or late afternoon, when the heat dies down. Take the time to reach Aci Trezza: the road runs along the coast, punctuated by viewpoints perfect for a photo break and a village rhythm that invites you to slow down. Geology buffs will appreciate the volcanic formations and the contrasting colors of rock, deep blue water and pale facades.

For a successful outing, choose a coastal route if you're traveling with the family or looking for an easy stroll. If you're looking for a more strenuous outing, a few climbs to higher ground offer superb viewpoints, but you'll need to allow a little more time.
