Lodi is a Lombard city on the Adda river, about thirty kilometres south-east of Milan. Its Renaissance historic centre is home to the church of the Incoronata, a masterpiece of Lombard painting. Lodi is the ideal starting point for cycling through the Adda Sud Park, a long natural corridor between Milan and Cremona.

The Via Francigena cycle path follows the Adda between Lodi and Pizzighettone, crossing wetlands and centuries-old poplars. The terrain is perfectly flat — typical of the Po Plain — and suitable for all levels. The city is also accessible from Milan via a very popular valley-floor cycle path.
