Padenghe sul Garda is a wonderful place to discover by bike: a gentle pace, the air of the lake, and that feeling of freedom when the road runs alongside the water before climbing into the hills. Here, the scenery changes quickly: olive groves, vineyards, small beaches and quiet lanes provide the ideal backdrop for an accessible and relaxing outing.

From the lakeside, pedal towards Desenzano for an easy ride, perfect for families or for a gentle start. Looking for a little more relief? Head inland: the views over the Garda are superb, especially at the end of the day. Take a detour to Padenghe Castle: the climb is well worth it, but the visit and panorama are well worth the effort.

To get the most out of your visit, set off in the morning to avoid the heat and crowds, especially in summer. Bring water, sun protection and a light layer of clothing: the lake breeze can be surprising. As for the itinerary, prefer secondary roads and tracks where they exist, and be careful when crossing villages.
