A top-notch mountain bike shop. Franck, who’d come to explore the Portes du Soleil on an e-MTB, gave us excellent advice on the route by sharing his track with us.
The bikes we hired – two Norco Sight VLTs – proved to be all-mountain bikes ready for anything.
All in all, it was a day spent riding through the Portes du Soleil, from Avoriaz towards Châtel and then into Switzerland via Morgins, Champoussin and Crosets, before heading back via the Porte d’Au and Lac Vert.
It was a real feast for the eyes – and a real workout for our arms and legs – with all those single tracks and some bike park sections.
In short, my son and I ended up completely knackered but delighted with the day.
