I strongly advise against buying a bike from Bouticycle Nice. The customer service is poor and, above all, very unpleasant. You buy a second-hand bike from them for €2,700, then come back to trade it in because you didn’t like it. They ask you, ‘How much did the new bike cost?’ ‘I’ve come to trade it in!’ ‘Ah, the trade-in value depends on the value of the new bike.’ ‘OK, that’s odd!’ ‘Well, they’re offering me €600 for it!!!’ ‘Thanks, and goodbye!!’ PS: ‘We don’t need customers like you,’ said the bloke in the workshop. Don’t worry about that :) I won’t be setting foot in your shop again.

I went to this shop after getting a puncture on my longtail cargo bike nearby. The morning after the repair, the tyre had already gone flat again. When I contacted them, I was told that I’d probably got another puncture on the way back, that it wasn’t their responsibility, and that without seeing the bike they couldn’t do anything — whilst refusing to come out to me, despite the fact that I was unable to push a 40 kg bike with a flat tyre all the way to the shop. No alternative solution, no goodwill gesture or refund was offered to me. I eventually called in another professional, who found that the inner tube was incorrectly positioned, confirming a problem linked to the initial repair. Finally, my husband also tried to contact them to find a solution. He was told that I was acting in bad faith, in particular by claiming that I had accused the shop of breaking my basket, which is untrue. I simply noticed, when I collected the bike, that it was so badly assembled that it was jamming the wheel. I would, of course, have paid for this repair if it had been clearly offered to me, but it was carried out whilst accusing me of alleged bad faith, even though I had no prior knowledge of this problem. Finally, the staff’s attitude was very disappointing: a condescending tone, a total refusal to reconsider the matter, and my husband was even told that I would no longer be welcome in the shop. Yet I am not a confrontational person – quite the opposite, in fact. But in this situation, the lack of respect and consideration is hard to accept. Ultimately, more than the technical problem, it is above all the lack of professionalism and customer service that is regrettable.
