We hired a Vespa yesterday for half a day. The shop assistant didn’t speak a word of English, which caused considerable delays (we had to use our mobile phone to translate). The rate was €13 per hour or €55 for 24 hours. We wanted to keep the scooter until 6 pm, with the option of returning it the following day, so we paid €55. However, the sales assistant didn’t even know when she would be in the shop the next day. So we paid for 24 hours but only got half the value for money. The worst part, however, was the lack of professionalism and the shop’s accessibility. The paperwork was rushed through and copies were only provided on request. We had to carry the scooter ourselves to get it in and out of the shop, having to negotiate a rather high step at the entrance. Please note: the deposit isn’t just held on your bank card; it is actually debited. This is very unusual and suspicious. We will never hire from them again.
