Life Jacket (MANDATORY)

Description

Design Details

How to check your life jacket before going boating? 1/2

- CO² cartridge: check that it is not punctured, without corrosion, and well screwed in

- Trigger (black): securely screwed, not expired, green cap present

- Striker (yellow): green seal (green triangle) present indicating the jacket has not been deployed.

- Jacket: Complete and without signs of wear (tears, fraying), inflatable bladder stored in its cover.

When should the gas cylinder and striker (salt tablet) be replaced?

- CO² cartridge = Check at least once a year that it is not corroded and that the weight of the cartridge matches the weight engraved on it. If there is a difference of 1 gram, it should be replaced.
- Salt tablet = Expiry date noted in the format: 05 2025 (for May 2025). It should be replaced after this date, or if the end of the cylinder is red and no longer has the green tablet.

How does the automatic activation work?

In the event of a fall into the water, the salt tablet dissolves instantly, pierces the compressed CO2 bottle, and inflates the bladder in less than five seconds.

To reset the jacket:
- Deflate it using the back of the cap from the oral inflation tube.
- Fold the bladder and close the textile cover.

Replace the cartridge and salt tablet following the instructions in the rearm kit: 8303768

How to check your life jacket before going boating? 2/2

Additionally, regularly (minimum once a year):
- Inflate the jacket using the oral inflation nozzle, and let it stay inflated for 24 hours: the jacket should not lose pressure
- Check the expiry dates of the trigger

What body types are suited to this jacket?

Designed for sailors weighing between 40 and 130kg with a waist measurement ranging from 60 to 130cm.

How to reset your life jacket?

Follow the assembly order carefully:

1. Remove the CO² tablet and the salt tablet
2. Replace the salt tablet
3. Replace the CO² cartridge

If you do not follow this assembly order, there is a risk of jamming the new cartridge if the salt tablet activation system has been used previously.

Storage conditions

The trigger uses a UML salt tablet, sensitive to water and humidity.
Storing in a damp and poorly ventilated or hot place can cause condensation, leading to unintentional activation.
To avoid unintentional activation, ensure the jacket is dry (inside and out) before storing it in a ventilated area.
Storing in a damp and poorly ventilated or hot area may cause condensation, which can lead to activation.
