We spent an unforgettable morning fishing with the team from L’Échappée Nautique. On 14 August at 8 am, my partner, our 9- and 12-year-old children and I set off with ‘Dan’, a recently retired fishing skipper, aboard a RIB. The morning mist lay over the sea. After just a few minutes on the water, my daughter was already reeling in her first mackerel. Dan shared his experience and expertise with passion and great humility. He guided us kindly throughout the fishing trip. A few minutes later, the mist lifted. “Come on, let’s go and see the dolphins,” and a few moments later we’re sailing alongside four dolphins swimming beside us. “We’re in their home,” Dan tells us. The sea doesn’t belong to us; it’s a gift from nature. After a good three hours at sea, we return to the depot and share a drink with the other crews and sailors from that morning. A very pleasant moment of sharing and returning to dry land.
We’d never been fishing before, and this adventure was quite simply exceptional. An experience we highly recommend!
