Excellent bike rental – highly recommended! The bikes are in very good technical condition and convenient to ride. We received a useful map and recommendation to follow route number 4, which took us through beautiful countryside and farmland, completely away from the crowds. This was the perfect way to visit the nearby châteaux. We especially enjoyed spending time at Château de Beauregard and Château de Troussay — both were excellent and almost empty, with almost no visitors. In contrast, Château de Cheverny can get quite crowded. A wonderful cycling experience. Thank you!

We had a really brilliant experience with Vélos Verts and would 100% recommend them. We hired two bikes for 7 days, and used the baggage transfer service. The bikes were really good. I would recommend the ‘trekking’ style bikes for their wide range of easy-to-use gears and fantastic brakes. The luggage transfer worked flawlessly even though our requirements were not completely straightforward. The staff were friendly and responsive. It was a complete pleasure.

We rented bikes to go to Chambord Castle. Everything was in order, we didn't have any issues. The staff were super friendly. Do ask for directions: they will show you the best scenic routes, which Google Maps really struggled with. Note that the bikes are a bit heavy, so long journeys can be tiring. We rented bikes elsewhere on another day and found them to be easier to ride when covering 40+ km.

We rented four “non-electric” bicycles to pick up in the city of Blois, and one more that we collected in Amboise. The part of contacting the shop and renting the bicycles went smoothly. There were no communication problems, everything was correct, and the price was good. We completed the process through their website, and it was very easy. The possibility of picking up the bicycles at one point and dropping them off at another is a very good service. In our case, we collected three of them in Blois and one more in Amboise to returned them in Tours. When we picked up the bicycles, we didn’t have time to check them together with the shop assistant, as there were quite a few people at that moment and he was very busy. We looked them over briefly ourselves and set off. As the kilometers went by, we realized that the bicycles were not very well adjusted and we had some issues with the gear shifting. Luckily, we were able to sort it out by ourselves. I have to say that the bicycles were a bit old and not very well maintained… they would definitely benefit from some improvement in that respect. On the other hand, I believe the price was very competitive. One point to improve was the collection of the fourth bicycle in the town of Amboise. In this case, we had to pick it up at a hotel, since there was no shop available. This was not a problem in principle, but the hotel reception staff who were supposed to assist us simply sent us to a garage next to the hotel to take whichever one we wanted. I didn’t find that to be the best way of handling it. On top of that, we had to take care of inflating the tires ourselves, etc. In other words, the bicycle was reserved but not prepared. Overall, the experience was good with some positive points, but also others that could be improved. In general, I would recommend renting from this shop. But I would encourage the shop managers to take our comments into account.

We had a very positive experience with our 5-day trip using Les Vélos Verts. Pick-up was smooth and easy, and the bikes were overall reliable for our ~50 km per day rides. We rented their VTC Trekking models and had no major problems throughout the trip. The Abus locks provided were excellent and gave us peace of mind. We didn’t use their GPS option since we preferred our own app (Komoot), which worked perfectly. We did notice a few minor details that could be improved: a loose kickstand, panniers that required screwdriver adjustment (manual-adjust versions would be much easier), a seat that needed extra adjustment, a front light not working on one bike, and a gear shifter that wasn’t perfectly smooth. None of these issues stopped us from enjoying the rides, but a quick check before handover would make things even better. The return in Tours was exceptionally easy — it took literally five minutes to get our luggage back using their transfer service. Overall, a great experience, and we would definitely recommend Les Vélos Verts for a multi-day cycling trip in the region.
