We hired two gravel bikes from João for four days during our stay in Sesimbra. João is a truly wonderful person, very knowledgeable about bikes and local routes, and he went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. João arranged for the bikes to be delivered and collected, and made sure we were completely satisfied (saddle height, choice of pedals, etc.). Also worth noting: the bikes came with a spare inner tube, a basic tool kit and a pump – very handy! Thanks again!

After finding the company online, I got in touch with João and we started chatting on WhatsApp. He then helped me with everything, confirming the bike’s specifications and set-up (pedals, bottle cages, sat-nav mount, etc.). Being able to simply chat with João and organise picking up and returning the bike was really handy. When I collected the bike, the mechanic was very helpful and the workshop was incredible, full of high-quality bikes of all kinds. If you’re in the area and want to hire a bike, João is the person for you! A big thank you for lending a brilliant bike to a Brit for some wonderful rides in Portugal! I hope to come back soon and that we can go for a ride together! Obrigado!

I stumbled across this local bike shop by chance whilst doing a Google search for bike hire. And I’m absolutely delighted with it! João is not only always available despite his busy schedule, but he’s also a really friendly chap. We hired two gravel bikes in excellent condition. He didn’t ask for any payment in advance and trusted us completely. We went back to hire again, and this time we were treated to a guided tour of the Setúbal Peninsula. I wouldn’t hesitate to use his services again. It’s a real pleasure to experience such great customer service and kindness from the locals, without feeling like you’re being watched just because you’re a tourist. I wish João and his team every success.

If you’re looking for a bike shop in the Sado area, look no further: this is the perfect place for top-quality service and support. João is a real expert on bikes and cycling, and he’s very approachable. The mechanic at the workshop is also excellent, and they stock their own brand of clothing (Vedette), which is of a very high standard. They’re set to launch their guided tours soon, and I wish them every success in this new venture.
