Splitboard Pack + Safety Pack
This pack contains the necessary equipment for splitboarding as well as an avalanche safety kit for one person.
The pack includes:
- a splitboard equipped with a Union Expedition or Voilé system;
- snowboard boots;
- poles and climbing skins;
- an ARVA EVO4 beacon;
- a shovel and a probe;
- cutters available upon request.
What size splitboard should you choose?
Choose a length close to your usual snowboard. If you don’t know it, take a board about 15 to 20 cm shorter than your height.
Between two sizes, choose the shorter one for more maneuverability. Take the longer one if you are heavier, carrying a loaded bag, or looking for more buoyancy.
What size boots should you choose?
Select your usual shoe size. If in doubt, measure your foot from heel to the longest toe.
How does the splitboard work?
To ascend, the board separates into two skis to which the skins are attached. To descend, remove the skins and bring the two parts together to reform a snowboard. Request the cutters if you plan an ascent on hard or icy snow.
Important for your safety
The beacon is used to find or be found in case of burial, the probe to locate the victim precisely, and the shovel to excavate. Each participant must have their own set of beacon, shovel, and probe, know how to use them, and perform a beacon check before departure. This equipment does not replace avalanche safety training.
