We tell you more about this resort!
Renting a snowshoe at Cambre d'Aze is the ideal opportunity to discover the mountains in a different way, to the quiet rhythm of your footsteps in the powder. Between silent clearings and breathtaking vistas, you'll enjoy an authentic winter, far from the hustle and bustle.
The massif stretches between Saint-Pierre-dels-Forcats and Eyne. First you meander through pine forests, then the view opens out onto the Cerdagne plateau and the Canigou. Families will appreciate the gentle loops on the edge of the forest, while the more athletic will aim for the higher elevations, between 1,600 and 2,400 m, when conditions are stable.
As for the weather, sunshine is often generous, but the Tramontane can make it feel even colder. Set off in the mornings for firmer snow and immaculate landscapes; in the afternoons, the snow is sometimes softer, making it ideal for initiating children. The best period is generally from December to March, with some very fine days just after a snowfall.
Think practical: layer up, wear waterproof boots with gaiters, take sunglasses, sun cream, water and snacks. A hiking map or GPS, charged phone and headlamp are good allies. Before you set off, check the weather and avalanche bulletins, stick to marked itineraries and adapt the length of your hike: 1 to 2 hours for a relaxing outing, half a day for a more strenuous outing.
With snowshoe rental at Cambre d'Aze, you travel light and choose equipment adapted to your size and the day's terrain, with poles and wedges if required. Looking for fresh air, fresh tracks and Pyrenean panoramas? Make snowshoe rental at Cambre d'Aze the key to your next winter break.
