Get on a bike as soon as you arrive in Grandcamp-Maisy and let yourself be carried away by the sea air for just €10 a day. The narrow streets of the port, where the fishing fleet still moors, rub shoulders with the cycle paths along the bay. Each pedal stroke reveals a different panorama, between sand dunes, cliffs and villages typical of the Normandy coast.

Head east and in less than ten minutes you'll reach Omaha Beach, where history mingles with vast stretches of sand. Then follow the Vélomaritime to the emotionally-charged Pointe du Hoc promontory, or branch off to Utah Beach to the west for a stroll along the thyme- and rosemary-scented embankments. Mountain bikers will enjoy the forest trails that wind their way through the Dives marshes, a veritable oasis of biodiversity.
