This Decathlon has a 24-hour vending machine stocked with basic bicycle spare parts (inner tubes, patches, cables, brake pads, etc.). It’s very handy if you use your bike every day and your working hours don’t match the shop’s opening times. The prices are slightly higher than in-store, but it’s really handy (€4 for an inner tube compared to €3.19 via click & collect).

I would like to sincerely thank the team of lads at the Decathlon City bike workshop on Rue Sainte-Catherine, whom I asked to carry out a service on my bike in preparation for a long-distance ride. Thanks to them, I felt reassured as they carried out adjustments and a thorough check-up on the bike that exceeded my expectations. They were responsive, friendly and pleasant, and gave me some good advice. I highly recommend them for their work and their professionalism.

I’m very pleased with the Decathlon bike repair workshop – it deserves 6 stars! They took care of it straight away, the repair was carried out efficiently and, above all, the team of technicians are highly skilled and know their trade inside out. My bike was repaired within the agreed timeframe and with great professionalism. A truly high-quality and convenient service right in the heart of Bordeaux. Thank you to the whole team for their warm welcome and expertise. I’d recommend them without hesitation!

I’d ordered a bike and was due to pick it up today. I decided to run the 4 km to the shop so I could cycle home. On Google, I saw that they closed at 8 pm (as I’d confused this shop with the one at Bordeaux Lac). Yes, it was my fault, but the staff’s attitude was very unpleasant. I arrived at 7.30 pm after running 4 km. They were just about to close and refused to help me. When I said I’d come to collect the bike and that I really needed it to get home, they just laughed in my face, spoke to me as if I were stupid whilst pointing to their opening hours posted on the door, and told me it wasn’t their problem. Yes, I got the opening hours wrong, but you shouldn’t talk to a customer like that. It was so humiliating. That’ll be the last time I buy anything from Decathlon, and I don’t even know if I’m going to collect the bike or just get a refund.

Safety hazard I asked for a luggage rack to be fitted to my bike so that I could carry my baby in their child seat. In hindsight, the luggage rack wasn’t suitable for the bike, but one of the sales assistants thought it would be a good idea to drill a hole in it and add a screw near the saddle clamp to secure the rack. I subsequently went back to the shop twice to have the saddle tightened, as it kept coming loose almost immediately. Each time, a different member of staff did it without saying a word, until, fortunately, on the third occasion, they realised that the installation was quite simply dangerous. He removed the screw, which, after barely 10 days, was already bent, and confirmed that I’d been lucky to have come in in time. If I’d carried on using my bike as it was, within a few months the child seat would have come loose whilst I was cycling – I needn’t explain the consequences for a one-year-old travelling at 25 km/h.
