Dénivelé Plus in Saverne is a real gem for all lovers of hiking, outdoor sports or simply those looking for quality kit. The shop is well laid out, with a huge range: walking boots, rucksacks, technical jackets, accessories… they really do have everything. And best of all, it’s not the sort of place where they pressure you into buying. The staff are brilliant, welcoming and passionate. You can tell they actually use the products they sell, so their advice is always spot on. I needed a softshell jacket suitable for changeable weather, and they immediately steered me towards a model that was perfect for my needs, without trying to sell me the most expensive one. I also appreciated the shop’s local, personal touch: it’s a welcome change from those big, impersonal chains. And as for the prices, frankly they’re reasonable given the quality of the products. In short, a brilliant spot in Saverne that I wholeheartedly recommend, whether you’re a weekend hiker or a proper adventurer!

I was absolutely delighted with the quality of the advice and the service in general. I took up running again after a 20-year break and received excellent advice from Vincent, who was trained at the Clinique du coureur. He recommended the Altra Superior 6, a shoe with virtually zero drop, which is very comfortable for my rather strong foot, even though it’s quite minimalist. “You’ll really feel the ground, and your foot will get stronger over time,” he said. And he was right! The key is to build up gradually. So, I run a little every day, stopping for a few seconds as soon as I feel any tension, then carrying on in running mode. For the past two weeks, I’ve been able to manage one-hour runs with elevation changes (once a week) and 25-minute runs on the other days, whereas a month ago I could barely run 20 metres without pain everywhere. I listen to my body; if I’m feeling sore, I cut back on the workload. In short, if you don’t want to get injured and are looking for THE perfect pair of trainers for you, this is the place to go. The advice is priceless, and at Dénivelé Plus, you won’t waste your time fumbling around!
