We spent a week cycling through Epernay and the surrounding region. The bikes were well-maintained and extremely well-equipped for our week of riding, with paniers, handle bar bags, and thoughtfully chosen tyres to facilitate cycling through the vineyards. We had so much fun exploring the area on these bikes- and had a few compliments on their style. More importantly, the entire experience of renting from Romain and Wilfred was exceptional. They brought joy to our trip- through quick conversations and coffees as we rode by from (or crossed paths along) the canal, offered great dining and route advice, and their warmth added a personal touch to our trip that I very much appreciated. These conversations gave a unique glimpse into their day-to-day life in Epernay. I’m grateful for what those interactions added to our trip. Merci!

We had such a great experience at Vélos au bord de l’eau! Romain was incredibly friendly and helpful from start to finish. He took the time to help both of my daughters find the perfect bikes for them, which made the whole experience really enjoyable and stress-free. He also gave us some fantastic recommendations for kid-friendly cycling routes, which we really appreciated. On top of that, the pricing was very fair and affordable. If you want to explore the champagne region in style, come here. Amazing guest and the bikes are 100% okay. We rode 50 kilometers and no problems. Best of the best

If you are looking to rent bikes during your time around Epernay and surrounding area, this is the place to do it! Romain and Wilfred at Les Vélos au Bord de l’Eau are absolutely wonderful, and meeting them was a highlight of my time around Epernay! They made us feel extremely welcome, offering local tips about where to eat, where to ride, and were both very committed to ensuring we had an awesome experience! Their communication is top notch, both while we were making the bike booking, as well as throughout our time with the bikes. They made the whole process easy and pleasant, with very flexible pick up and return times. We rented bikes for a week to allow us to tour the area, and they set us up with all the equipment we’d need. They provide beautifully maintained vintage bikes, panniers, locks, helmets, spare tubes, tools, etc, all for an excellent price. They are located in a perfect spot, right along La Marne, with very easy access to endless ideal cycling routes. I recommend Les Vélos au Bord de l’Eau to everyone, whether you want to rent bikes for a day or for week, they’ve got options for everyone. I will definitely be back next time I am in the region. Merci beaucoup!
