A lovely boat trip; even though I’m from the area, I learnt loads about Mâcon, and had a lovely chat with the boat’s captain.

On Friday we booked two bikes for Sunday. We received a warm welcome and they were very accommodating. We were given maps for the cycle route. The directions were clear, and it was a lovely, peaceful ride through the countryside. We cycled as far as Berzé-la-Ville (16 km) rather than Cluny (24 km) as we weren’t fit enough, but the route isn’t difficult.

We tried out stand-up paddleboarding – it was brilliant and we got to see our town from a different angle! Even though the area you can paddle in is quite limited. A great team who make sure you’re safe at all times. An experience we’d love to repeat so we can try canoeing and go a bit further down the Saône!

A lovely boat trip with a friendly captain who told us about the town, the Saône, and the local flora and fauna. He also took the time to have a chat with each of us.
