THE bike hire company to go to on the Île de Ré! The staff are very welcoming, knowledgeable and expert cyclists (which really sets them apart from other bike hire companies). They were the only ones to advise us and provide a trailer and a baby carrier for our 11-month-old son – the only solution offering maximum safety and comfort! The Solex bikes were top-quality and allowed us to make the most of the whole of the north of the island, from Port-en-Ré, Trousse-Chemise and Ars-en-Ré right through to Loix. A big thank you!

I didn’t realise that wearing a helmet was compulsory for children under 12. They were kind enough to let us hire one during the peak season, even though they only had three left. I really appreciated that level of service – it makes such a difference. Thank you to them for allowing us to finish our holiday on a positive note.

How could I not give this bike hire shop a 5/5! A very warm welcome, really friendly and helpful staff, top-quality bikes, and a super-handy dog trailer! We went on some wonderful rides around the island thanks to you, whether in the sunshine ☀️ or the rain :) If we ever come back to the island, we’ll definitely pop round to rent bikes from you again – it was a real breath of fresh air despite the health situation! This is where you need to hire bikes. Here, they don’t hire by the hour, but for a minimum of half a day (5 hours); after that, you can hire by the day, week, etc. The staff are very helpful. We arrived at 12.30 pm and the manager came back to open up for us (even though he was at the restaurant opposite) so we could hire our bikes. We hired two e-bikes with brilliant saddles (another stroke of luck), because after 5 hours, ouch… Great bikes, brand new, with good battery life. Locks provided. We returned just as the time limit was up, but no problem at all! It was a brilliant experience. Thank you for your warm welcome!
