SICILY is the name of the project developed by class 4B for "Color the Sicily on two wheels"
which has produced for the assigned bike no less than 15 outfits all "Sicilian" designed by students and
teachers, inspired by the sun, oranges and lemons, the Sicilian cart, the trinacria, the
cassata siciliana, the maiolica, the Arab-Norman monuments, the lights, street art
and the pink-black of the football team! The one chosen for participation in the competition is ….
VIA COL VENTO DI SCIROCCO and here is the bike signed Kiyohara_4B, the nickname used
on the Instagram page specially created by the kids from class.
A sporty, energetic, and vibrant bike, yellow like the sun and the lemon, like sulfur and tuff,
like saffron and malvasia, yellow for good visibility on the road and off-road,
ready to safely tackle the most beautiful routes among the roads, alleys, and paths of the
most beautiful historical, natural, and archaeological sites of Sicily.
On the head of the yellow frame sits a Sicilian decoration, a geometric and
colorful rose window with a trinacria in the center that, like a windmill,
seems to gather all the wind and breeze of the clear Sicilian skies and imprint a
whirling movement on the rigid geometry of the rose window, breaking it into small pieces
colored across the entire frame.
The bike VIA COL VENTO DI SCIROCCO and the matching helmet have been decorated through a
mixed technique: primer + base paint + colored films + two-component glossy
transparent paint layered until reaching the desired material effect.
