Splitboard Pack + Safety

This pack includes the necessary equipment to practice splitboarding, along with a set of avalanche safety gear for one person.

The pack includes:

• a splitboard equipped with an Union Expedition or Voilé system;
• snowboard boots;
• poles and climbing skins;
• an ARVA EVO4 transceiver;
• a shovel and a probe;
• knives upon request.

What size splitboard to choose?
Choose a length close to your usual snowboard. If you don’t know it, take a board about 15 to 20 cm shorter than your height.

If you are between sizes, choose the shorter one for better maneuverability. Take the longer one if you are heavier, carry a loaded backpack, or seek more floatation.

What size boots to choose?
Select your usual shoe size. In case of doubt, measure your foot from heel to the longest toe.

How does the splitboard work?
To ascend, the board separates into two skis to which the skins are attached. To descend, remove the skins and reunite the two parts to reform a snowboard. Request the knives if you anticipate climbing on hard or icy snow.

Important for your safety
The transceiver is used to search for or be located in case of burial, the probe to precisely locate the victim, and the shovel to dig them out. Each participant must have their own transceiver, shovel, and probe, know how to use them, and conduct a transceiver check before departure. This equipment does not replace avalanche safety training.
