A brilliant team. A very warm welcome and excellent advice. I took my skis in to be waxed and have the edges sharpened. They came back in tip-top condition. I took the opportunity to buy some new poles for powder snow, with a system for attaching removable wrist straps in case they get caught on something.

Generally friendly staff and well-maintained equipment. One criticism, however, regarding the technical compatibility of the ranges: For a ‘Black Pack’ (as exemplified by the Rossignol Arcade 82), I was initially provided with Atomic Redster Q4 skis. Technically, the Q4 is a lower-end ski (foam core/cap construction), severely lacking in grip and prone to vibration at high speeds. It’s a ski more suited to a ‘Red Pack’ or ‘Intermediate’ range. Following my complaint, the shop responded positively by exchanging the equipment for a higher-spec model, which allowed me to make the most of the ski area. I also appreciated being able to leave my boots in storage on the last day. I do have one slight regret regarding the suggestion that I should ‘switch to a different range’ in future: the problem stemmed from the mismatch between the model provided and what the package promised, not from my initial choice. (Sport 2000 customer) A slightly more proactive welcome when I returned the equipment would have been appreciated, but the goodwill gesture regarding the equipment saved my holiday.

I had my skis waxed and sharpened at that shop. I couldn’t get any control over them. I went back and the owner asked for them to be re-tuned. It didn’t make any difference. I went back again and this time an employee was really condescending, asking me what I wanted: ‘skis that work and are easy to control’. He kept insisting and repeating the question as if I were an idiot. He wouldn’t even look at them. I went to Intersport and there they told me my skis hadn’t been prepared at all! Fortunately, as true professionals, they re-edged them properly and saved my week. Oh, the arrogance…
