Activities & Leisure in Calvi!

With beautiful beaches, concerts, boat trips and strolls through the cobbled streets of the citadel, there's plenty to do in Calvi without the need for a car.

Boat trip to Girolata and the Scandola nature reserve

To admire the citadel and Calvi Bay from the sea, take a boat trip to Girolata and the surrounding nature reserve. This charming little village is only accessible by boat, or by a long mule track up the hillside. It's quite busy when you stop for lunch, but there are some charming little restaurants. As you arrive and leave the village, you'll have plenty of time to admire the reserve, with its spectacular red cliffs rising above the sea.

Try scuba diving

Corsica is a wonderful place for diving enthusiasts, and there are a number of diving schools in Calvi. Even if scuba diving isn't for you, it's worth grabbing a snorkel and flippers to discover the world beneath the waves.

Climb to Notre-Dame de la Serra

At the top of the hill that forms Calvi's backdrop is the small chapel of Notre-Dame de la Serra. It's well worth the climb for the reward you'll get at the top: a magnificent view over the Bay of Calvi. Don't forget to take plenty of water, sun cream, a hat and a comfortable pair of walking shoes.

Concerts in the cathedral

Music lovers will appreciate the concerts that often take place in Calvi's cathedral, in the center of the citadel, and sometimes at the nearby Oratoria. Look out for the posters or ask at the tourist office in the marina to find out what's on during your stay in Corsica.
