Renting a snowboard in Argeles Gazost is the ideal way to make the most of the Pyrenees without taking up too much space. Situated in the heart of the Vallée des Gaves, the town is a convenient base camp for trips to the most beautiful ski areas: Cauterets and its snowpark, Hautacam for panoramic views and families, Luz Ardiden for varied slopes, and the Grand Tourmalet via Barèges for long descents. In an average of 30 minutes, you'll be on the lifts.

Winter here is changeable and generous with snow. The best days on the slopes often follow a good fall the day before; set off early to enjoy the freshly groomed pistes, then the sunny slopes in the late morning. Between December and March, bring breathable layers, a windbreaker, sun cream and a well-tinted goggle: the Pyrenean light is intense, even in cold weather.
