Renting a snowshoe in Orcières Merlette is the ideal way to discover the mountains in a different way. You can go at your own pace, with family or friends, in the heart of unspoilt nature, with the occasional sign of a hare or a chamois in the powder.

The Rocherousse plateau attracts visitors for its wide-open spaces and panoramic views, while the hamlet of Prapic, at the gateway to the Écrins National Park, invites you to take a more heritage-oriented stroll among chalets and low stone walls. In windy conditions, you'll be better off in forested areas for greater shelter and comfort. After a snowfall, the landscapes are magical; when the weather is mild in spring, set off early to take advantage of still-firm snow and beautiful light.
